PAMELA ANNE MCCUSKER, a long time New Canaan resident, died peacefully on August 4, 2017 at Norwalk Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was 76. The eldest daughter of James and Kathleen Corey, she was born on June 28, 1941 in Detroit, MI. Pam was a graduate of Wiesbaden High School, an American high school in Wiesbaden, Germany. Upon her return to the States, she attended Michigan State University before moving to Short Hills, NJ. Pam took secretarial work in New York City and while employed at the Young and Rubicam Advertising Agency she met and married her husband Allen McCusker. The next several years brought three children and a whirlwind life as the family relocated several times to different locations across the country including: Massachusetts, Connecticut, California [twice], and Minnesota eventually settling permanently back on the east coast in New Canaan in 1981.
Pam was involved with many organizations throughout the years. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a Den Mother, a proud Little League and soccer mom as well as a member of The Children's League, Junior League, The New Canaan Garden Club, the The New Canaan Teen Center and PEO Sisterhood. She worked in the office at New Canaan High, and at Conde Nast for the Arnold Palmer Charity, Arnie's Army.
A devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother Pamela is survived by her husband Allen Arthur of New Canaan, sons Michael Allen and his wife Deirdre Morrison of Los Angeles, CA, Arthur James and his wife Hilary of Fairfield, CT, her daughter Kelly Anne of Stratford, CT, and two grandchildren Helena Gabrielle and Madeline Genette.
A memorial service to honor Pam's life will be held on Friday, August 11 at 1 p.m. at the Roger Sherman Inn in New Canaan on Oenoke Ridge. Following the memorial service, there will be a reception at 2:30 p.m. also located at the Roger Sherman Inn.
